I have had this contraption for the best part of a month now (a gift from Papa) and have not yet felt the desire to use it. Perhaps I ought to feel ashamed, to so waste a thoughtful gift, but there is very little to say that could aspire to mesh in with those thoughts of my colleagues here upon the literary landscape. I do not find my work boring (quite the contrary - if one dared even call it 'work'), I have had no horrific run in with a significant other (previously engaged or otherwise), and I have no thoughts in particular upon the latest, unsurprising postings in the Daily Prophet. Neither do I indulge in the colorful fits of language many seem so content to bespoil their pages with.
I simply am.
Despite my dislike for the frivolities expressed so freely by my neighbors in these journals, I am still delighted to announce herein that the Spring Charity Drive of St Mungos has found me a suitable director. With such a noble cause in mind, I am utterly content to put aside whatever petty differences there are between us in favor of helping those who suffer so terribly and find refuge only within the hospital's great walls.
I am sure that you will, in light of the distressing events occurring around us, find it within your heart to attend our fundraising dinner.
